SIFEF Project

Continuous water analysis for detecting dissolved substances

Estela Cántabra participated in the development of the SIFEF project together with the Polytechnic University of Madrid, aimed at continuous water analysis to determine dissolved substances and their concentration in situ.

The project was funded by the Government of Cantabria under the Innova Plan 2012 and drew interest from the Tagus River Basin Authority for prototype validation.

Scientific digitisation

Scanning system for herbaria and libraries

Estela Cántabra took part with the CSIC and the Complutense University of Madrid in creating a digitisation table for sensitive material, such as herbarium sheets, old books and documents that cannot be scanned using conventional methods.

This digitisation system was conceived as a solution both to process documentary material and to store and facilitate access to the information generated.
